Services Offered:
Collision Investigation
As a Traffic Collision Investigator, I am Reconstruction trained and have received over
several hundred hours of training. I have investigated over 500 serious injury and fatal
collisions, and I have given testimony in depositions, and both criminal and civil trials.
My training, experience and expertise are with Commercial Vehicles and I can help your
company should you be subject to civil litigation. We offer services ranging from an
advisory role, up to detailed collision investigations.
FMCSA-BIT/DOT Compliance
There are a lot of confusing State and Federal laws regulating the Commercial Trucking
Industry; Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol, 90 Day Inspections (Vehicle Maint.), Bi-annual Inspection
of Terminal, Driver Qualifications, just to name a few. Whether you are a new company
starting up, or you are an existing company who has a Terminal Inspection coming up,
we can help. Having owned a trucking company before, I have a unique perspective
on what areas to concentrate on and what it takes to have a satisfactory outcome on an
inspection. We offer services ranging from “Compliance Checks” in preparation for a DOT
inspection, to detailed ongoing programs that help companies maintain compliance.
Safety Training
Here at CSS we understand that safety doesn’t happen by accident! We also understand
that while every company is concerned about safety, not every company has the
same training needs. As a Certified Instructor of the Commercial Vehicle Program,
Traffic Enforcement, and Collision Investigation to rookie and veteran officers, I have
experience with teaching vastly different audiences. Also, I have conducted safety
training seminars for several trucking companies, helping their drivers with safety issues.
CSS offers safety training for your specific needs. We can offer training on a yearly,
monthly, or weekly basis. We can conduct basic training, or offer training specific to
problem areas that your company has identified. CSS offers group training, one-on-one
training, and training for management.
Safety Audit
We know that in general the BIT/DOT inspection is more of a report card of how the
company is doing as it relates to safety issues. However, drivers are the face of the
company. You could pass your inspections with flying colors every time, and still have
a horrible safety record. Why? Because drivers are an integral part of the safety system.
And if your drivers aren’t safe, then your company isn’t safe. The problem is that too
many companies find out too late that they have a safety problem with one of their
drivers…after an accident. We all know that after the accident is too late, so what can you
do as a company to check the safety of your drivers? With less than 1/10 of 1 percent
of all Police Officers being Commercial Enforcement Trained, you can’t depend on DOT
or the Police to keep your drivers in compliance. We at CSS know the importance of
making sure drivers are in compliance, and offer a “Safety Audit” Program. Remember,
safety doesn’t happen by accident, It’s not a gadget, it’s a state of mind, so you have
to make it happen. As part of our Safety Audit program, we will “observe” and track
specific drivers, trucks, or routes. It could be a problem area identified to us by the
company, or a random check. CSS will track this information as it pertains to Laws,
regulations and company rules, then provide a detailed report and video proof to the
company about the results of the observation period. The detailed report will provide the
company with a snapshot of drivers’ behaviors. We offer this service on a one-time basis,
or an ongoing basis. This service can also be combined with the safety training service if
it is determined that individual or group training is needed.
Safety is a cheap and effective insurance policy, so if you really want to know how your
drivers are doing, contact me. Don’t learn safety by accident.
